“JACK is designed for everything from long-distance cycling adventures to commuting,” says the startup. “They are built to last with quality materials, few points of failure and easily replaceable parts. “

The luggage rack measures 280mm by 230mm by 230mm and can be mounted on a 31.8mm or 25.4mm handlebar.
Secure attachment via a ‘lo-fi’ system, no tools, no tools required or no bike maintenance skills required which, according to WholeGrain Cycles, makes JACK the ‘least competent bike carrier / “Discriminating” on the market “.
Made from 304 stainless steel, the brand claims this provides a durable cantilever platform that also dampens vibration for any valuable loads you carry.
“Two high-strength straps hug the handlebars and stem, and the JACK cantilever perfectly over the front wheel, eliminating the need for a specific fork or bike frame,” explains WholeGrain Cycles.

A 420D fabric base then separates the load from the front wheel, and the front wheel can be removed for repair or replacement.
WholeGrain Cycles claims that the JACK rack is designed for loads of up to 5 kg using a combination of the ISO industry standard for “permanent bike racks”, IS011243-2016, and its own experience in transporting loads on a bicycle.
Every part of the rack is replaceable for a long life.
“Take JACK anywhere,” says WholeGrain Cycles, “from a smooth city ride to a rowdy off-road bike adventure.”
We’ve enlisted the help of off.road.cc to put the JACK to the test, with a full review coming soon. It weighs 723g with a medium strap under the stem, elastic and a Jack strap, which is the complete setup needed for Pat Joscelyne’s bike.
The suggested retail price is £ 60, but the product will launch on Kickstarter soon. The pre-registration price is £ 45, rising to £ 55 for the next wave of backers.
