Born in 1999, Jesse "The Gnat" Seeley, has been providing on track excitement for four years. Video Driving Simluation games prepared him for his first track experience driving a gas Briggs 4-Cycle Maverick chassis loaned by Rick Sweeting of Raceway Motorsports. Soon after, Jesse was driving his own Maverick chassis, powered by a methanol fueled Briggs 4-Cycle engine. After a year of practicing, Mom and Dad were finally ready to let him race, and in 2005 Jesse brought home the Jr. Sportsman 1 Championship from Lamar County Raceway in Barnesville, Ga, currently named BlackHills Circuit.
In 2006 Raceway Motorsports arranged for Jesse to borrow a Maverick 50cc Kid Kart and purchase an 80cc Cadet from Casey Roderick. He campaigned both Karts, driving the age appropriate Kid Kart at WKA events in Florida and South Carolina, and the Cadet at the local track. Jesse drove in the Kid Kart Nationals in St. Louis that year, retired in another drivers spin during the Final after beating the eventual Champion twice during the Heat Races. Locally, he brought home the GSKA Cadet Championship.
Jesse continued to drive the Cadet in 2007, bringing home the GSKA Class Championship. He also began competing in the SCCA sanctioned Solo2 (autocross) program in the Atlanta Region. In his Rookie season of Autox, Jesse dominated the Formula Junior B class in both Regional and Divisional competition. He also became the Club Class Champion of Champions in the Atlanta Region after out-driving all of the Open Class Champions (cars, shifter karts, and fixed gear karts) in handicapped (PAX) competition on two courses.
2008 will bring the return of Jesse's first Kart, the Maverick chassis, as a purpose built Autox vehicle. He will compete in the new Rotax class, Micro-Max, in the six race Florida Winter Tour series, driving for Raceway Motorsports and Carl Cottrell. The Cadet was replaced with a new CRG chassis and Cadet engine for the remainder of the Sprint Course season in the Southeast.
Jesse would like to thank his sponsors, Rick Sweeting of Raceway Motorsports, Carl Cottrell, Darrell Cox Racing, Loxmith Racing, and of course, Mom and Dad.
